In 2011 the Witherspoon Institute celebrates its silver anniversary with the launch of the "Raise your Hand for Haiti" campaign at the International Haitian American Summit, United Nations, New York.
The summit is hosted by the children of WIN as part of their five-year youth leadership program of children helping children of Haiti. Officials estimate over 100,000 children became orphans as a result of the Earthquake last year.
A second part of the leadership program is a national quilt for Haiti that Witherspoon began with support from Simon Mall in May 2010 and is now a national program in 10 states.
The Silver Anniversary Celebration concludes with a 3 day youth conference featuring: a Red Carpet Movie Premiere, a Formal Tea, Kids Disco and WIN’s signature Children’s Ball.
